LiveRates.io is a free, real-time currency converter and exchange rate reference tool. We cover 50+ world currencies and provide live rates, historical charts, and detailed conversion tables, all at no cost, with no account required.

Our goal is to provide the most accurate, up-to-date mid-market exchange rates for anyone who needs to convert currencies, whether you are traveling, shopping online, sending money internationally, or tracking exchange rate trends.

Data Sources

All exchange rates on LiveRates.io come from the European Central Bank (ECB), delivered via the open-source Frankfurter API. The ECB publishes official reference rates at approximately 16:00 CET on each business day (Monday–Friday, excluding ECB holidays).

Methodology

LiveRates.io displays mid-market rates, the midpoint between the buy and sell rates in the interbank (wholesale) currency market. These are also called interbank rates or reference rates. They represent the most accurate benchmark for currency conversions and are widely used by financial institutions, journalists, and international businesses.

Our rates are refreshed every hour so you always have an up-to-date reference. For days when the ECB has not yet published new rates (weekends, holidays), the most recent available rate is displayed.

Important Disclaimer

The exchange rates shown on LiveRates.io are mid-market reference rates, not retail rates. When you exchange currency at a bank, currency exchange bureau, or money transfer service, you will typically receive a rate that differs from the mid-market rate due to the provider's margin or fee.

For international money transfers, compare services such as Wise, OFX, or Revolut, which offer transparent fees and rates close to the mid-market benchmark.
